Tijuana
Tex Mex
(Los Remedios - c/Asuncion 67)
Typical Tex Mex, or better yet Mexican food. All the standards are available
including nachos, tacos, burritos, enchiladas, chimichangas and more.
Good tequila and Mexican beer as well as a Mariachi band on most nights!
Mex
Rock
(Triana - c/Betis 40)
Outside you see they offer “good music”.
But inside there's more. And while they're well know for their margaritas
and cheap shots of tequila for later in the evening they also offer some
decent Mexican food. Fajitas, quesadillas, tacos, enchiladas plus a few
interesting dishes outside the typical mexican menu.
La
Tasca del Frijolito
(Torneo - c/Torneo, 19)
A little joint across from the cartjua (center side of the river) on the
main strip. They offer a number of dishes, including 6 or so styles of
enchiladas, the cazuela loca (delicious mix of 2 kinds of meat,
two kinds of rice and beans), Mexican tapas and sandwiches, a large nachos
plate, chile con carne, salads, and more. When the weather is warm they
have outdoor seating with a view of the Avenida! We managed to order several
of the smaller dishes but saw a giant salad and other large dishes come
out of the kitchen.
Cantina
Mariachi
(Centro - Plaza de Armas - Mall)
(Nervión - Nervión Plaza - Mall)
Being in a mall and looking at the menu you get
the idea of what this place is all about - Taco Bell, but a bit better.
The food is actually pretty good but you feel "chain restaurant"
oozing from the decoration and location. Still, if you're in one of the
mall's and looking for something different it's a good choice. If you're
thinking Mexican and wondering where to go I'd put this way down on my
list.
Amanecer
(Arenal - c/Arjona 20)
(Los Remedios - c/Asuncion 76)
(Viapol - Avda. San Francisco Javier, 24) Part of
a chain of Mexican restaurants in Spain they offer an authentic experience,
both in food and decoration. Burritos, tacos, guacamole, quesadillas,
huevos rancheros and more. A selection of Mexican beer and of course some
good tequila.
